UFred alumnus Saurabh Sen achieves online MBA while maintaining steady work-life balance

Students at the Sandermoen School of Business begin their MBA with a variety of academic and professional backgrounds, and they choose the University of Fredericton for a number of reasons.

For Saurabh Sen, a Master in Business Administration seemed like the natural next step in his professional development and learning.

Saurabh’s previous education includes a Bachelor of Science and a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation.

Like many UFred students, choosing the MBA program at UFred was made easy due to the balance that it would afford him. Studying virtually at UFred meant that he could maintain his work commitments, his personal life, his education, and a reasonable financial investment due to UFred’s competitive tuition fees:

“In choosing an MBA program, the most important factor for me was finding a conducive atmosphere that balanced work, study, life, and most importantly finances. UFred was affordable and the program duration and format made life easier through reasonable work loads and finances.”

Saurabh successfully completed his program in 2021 after three years of hard work and study. In the time since, he has found that the MBA program helped to expand on his leadership skills and knowledge. Saurabh considers this to be one of the largest benefits to have come from the program as it has had a direct impact on his work:

“Being a Business Analyst, I am often tasked to analyze situations and identify options for my company. I often use the leadership theories that I learned in my program.”

Saurabh is a Senior Business Analyst with TD Securities and has also found the business analytics courses that he took through his Business Analytics Leadership specialty stream to be particularly useful. The courses have helped him to expand his portfolio for multiple analytic processes.

With his MBA now complete, Saurabh is focused on moving forward. His goal is to continue focusing on his career, and to continue to apply his learnings from the MBA program to his everyday work.
