Fredericton, June 27, 2023 – The University of Fredericton (UFred) is pleased to announce the launch of a new specialty stream in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Leadership within its online Master and Executive Master of Business Administration programs. The stream will focus on teaching students the management components and techniques required to grow, scale, and effectively use AI solutions.

As businesses strive to become more efficient and competitive, AI is revolutionizing the way they operate. From healthcare and automotive to finance and customer service—automation powered by AI is already being used at various levels across sectors. As a result, there is a need for skilled managers that can leverage the full potential of AI technology while mitigating any associated risks or challenges.

“We’ve been closely monitoring the changes in AI and how it affects the workforce,” said UFred Dean of Academics Michael Hobeck, “It was clear that more educational opportunities were needed to help individuals understand this rapidly evolving field. The UFred AI Leadership stream will provide a comprehensive curriculum of AI management techniques so that students can stay ahead of the competition, giving them an edge in terms of leveraging AI technology.”

Informed and taught by leading experts in the AI field, UFred’s AI Leadership specialty stream will teach students how to maintain AI solutions, manage the people, process, and technology aspects of AI, be familiar with relevant regulations, and understand organizational and change management aspects pertinent to the discipline. The stream is designed to be essential education for managers, directors, and executives that are responsible for the management of AI tools and solutions.

The AI Leadership stream will be delivered completely online and available to both MBA and Executive MBA students.
