Programming with Python
https://ufred.ca/courses/cpsc-2010/
Course description
This course builds on fundamental Python programming skills to help students develop practical, real-world software applications. Learners will work individually on a semester-long project that integrates key programming concepts introduced throughout the course. Topics include working with external data (such as CSV files and APIs), handling files, building web applications using Flask, integrating databases with SQLite, implementing basic data analysis, writing and running unit tests, and applying functional programming techniques. By the end of the course, students will be able to develop, test, and deploy a small but complete software application using best practices in Python development. Students will use Visual Studio Code (VSCode) as their development environment and gain hands-on experience in software development workflows. Emphasis is placed on writing clean, testable code and progressively refining a project over multiple stages.
