ETHC 4630
Corporate Social Responsibility in a Global Context
https://ufred.ca/courses/ethc-4630/
Course description
This course examines the responsibilities of corporations that operate in a global economy. Specifically, we will discuss the role of culture in defining or shaping ethics and values and potential issues associated with a cross-cultural or multi-cultural operation. We will explore the history and background of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its implications for doing business, including varying perspectives of different corporate stakeholders, i.e., shareholders, consumers, suppliers, civil society, and other constituencies. Many stakeholders expect corporations to assess and manage the social and environmental impact of their global business operations, which presents challenges and opportunities for managers implementing CSR through their core business processes.
