Apply now: UFred Community Impact scholarships for MBA and EMBA students

The University of Fredericton is committed to reducing barriers to lifelong learning journeys. To demonstrate this dedication, UFred is offering four Community Impact Scholarships, valued at $1,000 each. They will be awarded to well-deserving MBA and EMBA students who exhibit exceptional academic achievement, leadership qualities, volunteerism and a genuine passion for continuous learning.

The Community Impact Scholarship is a non-renewable grant intended to acknowledge the academic and personal accomplishments of students and offer financial assistance to eligible applicants.

Application process

Eligibility

  • Students who are in good standing and currently enrolled in Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5

  • Volunteerism and civic engagement is considered an asset

  • One of the four scholarships will be awarded to an applicant who volunteers with or has volunteered with St. John Ambulance in the past

Documents required to apply

  • Personal statement

  • Resume/ CV

  • Two letters of recommendation from professors, employers, or others who can speak to your abilities and potential. Letters of recommendation must be submitted by your referees directly to alumni@ufred.ca.

  • Optional: Record of Service, if seeking consideration based on St. John Ambulance volunteer history

Selection committee

  • Dean of Programs (or designate)

  • Registrar (or designate)

  • One Business professor (or designate)

  • One UFred administrative staff member (or designate)

Review process

UFred will accept applications until July 19, 2026. Applications will be reviewed after receiving all required documents and additional documents may be requested by UFred before making a decision.

After the application deadline, an initial screening will assess eligibility and document completeness after which winners will be selected. All applicants will be emailed regarding the outcome of their application.

Scholarship recipients will be announced by August 28, 2026. Each $1,000 scholarship will be disbursed as a tuition credit to be applied toward the recipient’s next course enrolment.

Scholarship conditions

Scholarship recipients must use the amount within the subsequent three terms starting from the date of the scholarship’s award.

Scholarship recipients will be responsible for paying all remaining tuition fees not covered by the award by the specified due dates.
