Provincial accreditation 

The University of Fredericton is a degree-granting university under Section 3 of the Degree Granting Act of the Province of New Brunswick. That means our programs meet the standards set by provincial regulators, just like traditional universities across Canada. We consider this table stakes, and just the beginning of our accreditations and rankings. 

ACBSP accreditation 

Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is a global business education accrediting body focused on teaching excellence. It ensures our MBA and EMBA programs meet rigorous educational standards.

ACBSP-accredited schools like UFred must demonstrate ongoing improvement and relevance to industry needs. Emphasis is placed on career focused learning and faculty quality.  

ABET accreditation 

Our Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditation provides assurance that our Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (AOHS) program meets the quality standards of the profession. 

The ABET accreditation process is carried out by four accreditation commissions. This stamp of approval means graduates are learning exactly what’s required to succeed in safety-focused careers.
