Dr. Dwyer expressed his deep gratitude for the recognition, noting that receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal was not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the collective efforts of those who have supported him along the way.

"It is a distinct privilege to receive the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Standing among such extraordinary individuals—each with their own inspiring stories of dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to service—was truly humbling. I am in awe of the incredible contributions made by my fellow recipients, and I am deeply inspired by their passion for creating positive change," said Dr. Dwyer.

Similarly, Mr. Alexander Landry, an esteemed UFred faculty member and alumnus, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to emergency management and disaster recovery. As Chair of St. John Ambulance’s National Emergency Management Program Subcommittee, Landry has worked to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders nationwide. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Disaster Recovery Institute Canada, bringing together experts to enhance preparedness and response efforts.

While serving overseas with NATO, Mr. Landry continued his volunteer work, adapting to challenges and advancing key initiatives. Expressing his appreciation, Alexander said:

"Receiving this award was deeply gratifying, as it recognizes the efforts I’ve put into bettering my community beyond my professional responsibilities. However, volunteering has never been about recognition. I see this as a testament to the collective efforts of the teams I’ve had the privilege to work with."

A legacy of leadership and service

Dr. Dwyer and Mr. Landry’s achievements are a testament to UFred’s commitment to fostering leaders who make a difference. Their unwavering dedication to their fields and communities aligns with the university’s mission to inspire innovation, service, and lifelong learning.
