Course structure and details
The Bachelor of Computer Science degree is an independent learning program with a fixed schedule and deadlines, delivered fully online. There are no classes to attend, but your courses will be led by instructors, and you will be required to meet assignment deadlines.
Courses are delivered in eight-week terms, and students can complete the program in four years of full-time study (when taking two courses at a time). As with all UFred programs, online doesn't mean you'll be alone: students benefit from rich online learning content, regular engagement with faculty, and interaction with peers via discussion forums.
With this undergraduate computer science degree, you’ll develop in-demand technical skills through a rigorous curriculum that blends computing theory with real-world application. Courses are carefully structured to build foundational knowledge in the early years, followed by specialized study and elective choices that support career interests in areas like software development, data science, and systems design.
